Aftercare

  • Remove plastic wrap after 1 hour and wash by hand with anti-bacterial soap (no washcloth) and pat dry.

  • For 3-4 weeks, apply a thin layer of A&D ointment at least 3 times a day or when area is dry/itching. Note: Tattoos are still healing after the scab is gone.

  • DO NOT submerge your tattoo under water (bath, pool, hot tub, lakes, etc) for 3 weeks.

  • Excessive exposure to the sun can damage your tattoo. Only use sunscreen when absolutely needed.

  • NO TANNING BEDS.

  • DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH YOUR TATTOO for 6

  •  weeks to prevent permanent damage, as the scabs with fall off naturally. If it is itching, look back at the 2nd bullet point.

The First Day

  • Expect some tenderness and swelling from the tattooed area. 

  • Bleeding through the first night is normal

  • Wash the tattoo area with antibacterial soap and use A&D ointment for relief

Healing Process

  • Healing time is different for each person and may be different according to the area

  • You can expect healing to take at least 3 weeks

  • Aftercare is the best predictor of tattoo outcome.

  • Follow the steps above to ensure a nicely healed tattoo.

Saniderm

  • A product that may be applied after your tattoo is complete that helps protect the tattoo and speeds up the healing process

  • I recommend it be kept on for 5 days, but HAS to be on at least 3 days

  • If you see liquid pooling together under the Saniderm, poke a small hole and drain. This is normal

  • when you are removing the product, peel off slowly, and wash with antibacterial soap to clean and help remove the leftover adhesive

  • Follow the steps above under "Aftercare"
